We are two weeks into 2019 and so far we have seen new releases from the likes of The Weeknd, Lana Del Rey, and Catfish and the Bottlemen, and we have a feeling that this has set the precedent for whats to come for the rest of the year.

Here are our favourites so far:

Arizona-born singer/songwriter Alec Benjamin has teamed up with Alessia Cara (winner of Best new Artist at the 2018 Grammy Awards) to produce this melancholic track with layered vocals and an incredibly catchy hook.

Currently working on her second EP, Philadelphia native Andrea Valle is making waves in the music and fashion industry. Her new track 'No More' is a soft and ambient reflection on a breakup, and it gives us serious SZA vibes.

This song has already sparked conversation with its raunchy lyrics and apparent dig at rapper Drake, but it's caught our attention with its catchy beat (similar to previous tracks on the his 2016 album 'Starboy') and seriously good production quality.

We know we're not the only ones who are stoked about the return of Catfish and the Bottlemen. Their new song features some nice guitar riffs and isn't too different from their previous tracks (which we're not mad about).

A haunting track from the 'Roma' motion-picture soundtrack. In true Billie Eilish style, with malignant lyrics and an echoing beat, this song is both eerily melancholic and angelic.

Rag n Bone Man provides powerhouse vocals for this groovy and well-matched collaboration. We think it could be a big hit this summer, and the brass interludes and nostalgic sound reminds us of certain tracks from Calvin Harris's latest album 'Funk Wav Bounces vol.1'.

Canadian singer/songwriter Charlotte Cardin delivers some very dreamy vocals in this track. The bass-rich, electro beat compliments the lofty notes and layered chorus to make this an irresistibly sensual tune that we cant stop listening to.

Example is back with a new look AND a new sound. This track consists of a bass-heavy, repetitive beat, with his conversational vocals being echoed with the words 'All Night' throughout. We see this being a big dance tune for 2019.

Starting with an isolated acoustic verse, this song comes to life approximately 30 seconds in. The ironic lyrics and sarcastic tone of the vocals contrast to the upbeat rhythm of this song, and it works.

Future boasts about his luxurious lifestyle in this track (when isn't he) and makes sure to include plenty of ad-libbing. His contemporary sound is complimented by repetitive lyrics, which echoes his 2017 hit 'Mask-Off'.

The queen of melancholy is back with another single to start off 2019. It's stripped back vocals and twinkly piano notes make every single lyric resonate in this slow and wistful track. Lana Del Rey, never change.

On this emotional R&B track, Kehlani's sugary sweet voice tells a story of heartache. She showcases her powerful vocal ability and TY Dolla $ign's verse makes this a hip/hop anthem which we're sure will be popular this year.

On a collaboration that none of us were expecting, Rudimental makes the most of RAY BLK's and Stefflon Don's impressive vocal abilities. This is a dance track that we think is going to be a hit in 2019.
